This is despite four PSC members from the opposition calling for the committee to go ahead with its meeting even if Azam, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner, was not present.

PAS’ Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman said there were several issues that needed the legal adviser’s office’s opinion after they were highlighted by Azam.

“The Parliament’s legal adviser’s office needs time to study the case as it is quite complicated, and they were not able to respond before this Wednesday (today).

“Hence, there were suggestions from several PSC members for the meeting to be postponed, to which I agreed. The postponement was then informed to all nine PSC members,” he said in a statement late last night.

Yesterday, the four PSC members had urged the chairman to review his decision to cancel the meeting slated for today as there were other matters the committee needed to discuss, including who else to summon for questioning.

They were Kota Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong, Kota Kinabalu MP Chan Foong Hin, Selayang MP William Leong and Sepanggar MP Azis Jamman.
