SEREMBAN: Police are investigating the missing wiring in a flood warning siren box at a department of irrigation and drainage (DID) retention pond at Taman Sungai Gemas, near here.
Tampin district police chief Anuwal Ab Wahab said police went to the scene yesterday afternoon after receiving a report from a DID employee.
He said the employee had suspected that the siren box, which had its wiring missing, and the gate leading to the retention pond had been tampered with. The losses were estimated at RM1,000.
He said the flood warning station, built 15 years ago, had been found to be in good condition during its last maintenance check on Dec 8.
