
According to the social welfare department’s (JKM) Info Bencana, the number of victims in Kelantan continued to register a decrease as of 8am, with 681 from 218 families compared with 685 victims from 222 families yesterday.
They were being sheltered at five centres in Pasir Mas.
Meanwhile, the drainage and irrigation department’s official flood information portal said none of the water levels at major rivers in Kelantan had exceeded the danger level.
In Selangor, the total number of victims had decreased to 16,579 at 86 centres this morning compared with 16,743 at 87 centres last night.
As of 4am today, Selangor police said seven roads in six districts were still submerged and closed to traffic.
They include the Dengkil-Banting FT 31 bridge (Sepang), the bridge leading to the Subang shooting range (because of damage), and Jalan PJU 7 in front of the Mutiara Damansara MRT station (Petaling Jaya), due to potholes.
Also closed were the Kuala Selangor-Bestari Jaya road (Kuala Selangor), Jalan BRP 7/2 in Bukit Rahman Putra (Sungai Buloh) and Jalan Genting Peras-Kuala Klawang in Kajang.
However, Jalan Kuala Kubu Bharu-Bukit Fraser, towards Peretak in Hulu Selangor, is now open to light vehicles.
In Pahang, the number of flood victims this morning stood at 19,839 people at 137 relief centres compared with 21,726 at 148 centres last night.
The districts still affected by the floods were Bentong, Temerloh, Bera, Maran, Kuantan and Pekan.
In Negeri Sembilan, state civil defence force director Mohd Syukri Madnor said the number of flood victims in the state had decreased to 152 from 44 families compared with 203 victims from 56 families last night.
In Melaka, the total number of flood victims continued to be on the downward trend, with 26 victims from eight families at 8am today compared with 29 victims involving nine families last night.
