
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,731,713 cases.
He said 4,998 patients had recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,652,585.
Meanwhile, 329 patients are warded in intensive care units, 255 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 74 suspected of being infected; 179 patients require respiratory assistance, with 121 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 58 suspected of being positive.
There were 3,415 local infections today, involving 3,255 Malaysians and 160 foreigners, and 95 imported cases, comprising 80 Malaysians and 15 foreigners.
Of these, only 1.7% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.
Noor Hisham also said there were six new clusters reported today.
