
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,728,203 cases.
He said 5,118 patients had recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,647,587.
Meanwhile, 331 patients are warded in intensive care units, 263 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 68 suspected of being infected; 187 patients require respiratory assistance, with 122 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 65 suspected of being positive.
There were 3,419 local infections today, involving 3,274 Malaysians and 145 foreigners, and 100 imported cases, comprising 17 foreigners and three Malaysians.
Of these, only 1.8% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.
Noor Hisham also said there were two new clusters reported today.
Meanwhile, he said the total number of flood victims stands at 65,114 as of 3pm today.
He said the number of positive Covid-19 cases among flood victims was 361 cases while there were no positive cases reported at the temporary relief centres.
He also said 963 (27.2%) of the 3,438 flood victims were examined and given outpatient care by the medical team at the centres.
