3,140 new Covid-19 cases, 4 clusters

This brings the total number of infections to 2,724,684.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has reported 3,140 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, up from the 2,589 cases reported yesterday.

In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,724,684 cases.

He said 4,278 patients had recovered while 353 patients remain in intensive care, 275 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 78 suspected of being infected; 189 patients require respiratory assistance, with 125 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 64 suspected of being positive.

There were 3,082 local infections today, involving 2,910 Malaysians and 172 foreigners, and 58 imported cases.

Of these, only 2% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.

Noor Hisham also said there were four clusters reported today.
