
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,721,544 cases.
He said 3,810 patients had recovered, while 379 patients remain in intensive care, 307 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 72 suspected of being infected; 210 patients require respiratory assistance, with 142 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 68 suspected of being positive.
There were 2,543 local infections today, involving 2,427 Malaysians and 116 foreigners, and 46 imported cases.
Of these, only 2.5% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.
Noor Hisham added that 72 health facilities were affected following the floods.
He said a total of 78 victims were screened and treated at evacuation centres; 13 were found with infectious diseases (five with acute respiratory infection and eight with skin infections) and 65 were found with non-infectious diseases.
There were no cases of acute gastroenteritis, typhoid, cholera, hand, foot and mouth disease, leptospirosis, dengue or other infectious diseases reported among flood victims so far.
Noor Hisham also said there were three clusters reported today.
