4,362 new Covid-19 cases, 12 clusters

This brings the total number of infections to 2,711,764.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has reported 4,362 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, a slight increase from the 4,262 cases yesterday.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,711,764 cases.

He said 5,098 patients had recovered.

Meanwhile, 400 patients are warded in intensive care units (ICU), 315 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 85 suspected of being infected.

Of the patients in ICU, 198 required respiratory assistance, with 143 having tested positive for Covid-19 and the remaining 55 suspected of being positive.

There were 4,334 local infections today, involving 4,099 Malaysians and 235 foreigners, and 28 imported cases.

Of these, only 2% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.

Noor Hisham also said there were 12 clusters reported today.
