PETALING JAYA:
The complaints of Taman Melawati residents will be heeded, environment and water minister Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said.

In a Facebook post today, he said he had received a copy of the complaint from the Taman Melawati Residents’ Association yesterday.

“This will be given attention and action will be taken accordingly,” he said.

Tuan Ibrahim’s comments come after Taman Melawati residents protested yesterday over uncompleted sewerage upgrading work in their neighbourhood.

Residents’ association chairman Azhari Abd Taharim said the roads had become dangerous because of digging.

The sewerage project has been stalled and delayed for close to six years, causing poor road conditions, accidents, damage to vehicles and traffic jams.

During their protest, residents urged the environment and water minister to intervene and resolve the progress of the project.

The project is being handled by the sewerage services department under the environment and water ministry.
