5,020 new Covid-19 cases, 13 clusters

This brings the total number of infections to 2,673,019.

PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry has reported 5,020 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, up from the 4,965 cases yesterday.

In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,673,019 cases.

He said 4,525 patients had recovered while 428 patients remain in intensive care, 359 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 69 suspected of being infected; 237 require respiratory assistance, with 159 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 78 suspected of being positive.

There were 5,003 local infections today, involving 4,784 Malaysians and 219 foreigners, and 17 imported cases.

Of these, only 1.7% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.

Noor Hisham also said there were 13 clusters reported today.
