PETALING JAYA: Two women have been arrested for throwing objects at a crawling baby at a nursery in Bayan Baru, Penang yesterday.
The nursery workers, both in their 20s, were arrested after a video showing their actions went viral on social media.
The 44-second video was uploaded on the Facebook account of “Cahaya Nasihat Mohd Nhazeri”.
Southwest district police chief Kamarul Rizal Jenal said police arrested the two for investigations under Section 31(1) of the Children Act 2001..
“Investigations showed that the incident happened at 6.45pm on Nov 24 and the video was uploaded by the victim’s mother,” he said in a statement today.
Netizens have slammed the two for their antics and said they were not fit to work in a nursery if they could not care for children.
