Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mazlan Lazim said that in addition to the four enforcement officers, aged 25 to 49, two other suspects who broke into the storage area in Dengkil to steal the seized liquor have also been detained.
He did not name the agency.
Mazlan said investigations found that three men in a lorry entered the storage area at about 2.30am last Thursday.
“The suspects tied up the security guards before unloading the liquor that was in a seized lorry and loaded them onto another lorry which they had driven in.
“The loading took about two hours before the suspects left at about 5am,” he said, according to a report in Harian Metro.
He said police managed to arrest two of the three suspects in a lorry, who led them to the lorry with the stolen items at a roadside in Shah Alam.
Police found 234 boxes of the liquor stolen from the storage area in the lorry.
Mazlan said that acting on the report, police discovered the involvement of the four enforcement officers and seized amphetamine drugs worth about RM559,000 from them.
“We also seized electronic scales, mobile phones and cash amounting to RM111,100,” he said.
The suspects have been remanded for six days to assist in the investigation.
“Police are tracking down another suspect presumed to be the mastermind,” he said.
