Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said this will be done for riders in 191 parliamentary constituencies.
In a Facebook post, he said this followed a meeting between the movement and Socso’s chief executive officer, Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed, during which they handed over a memorandum on recommendations to improve the well-being of the p-hailing riders.
“Hopefully, this meeting can be the starting point of cooperation between Umno Youth and Socso in ensuring that workers’ rights are prioritised,” he said.
The Employment Injury Scheme, unveiled in Budget 2021 tabled in Parliament on Nov 6 last year, provides assistance to those who are self-employed.
Asyraf said that during the two-hour meeting, Socso also agreed to provide a job placement platform, through the career generator MyFuture Jobs, to boost labour demand among employers and increase employment opportunities among young people.
