PETALING JAYA:
A day after being married, a road transport officer died of a stroke after complaining about having a headache.

Siti Saraf Ismail, 25, an officer with the road transport department (JPJ) in Putrajaya, died on Sunday, after complaining about a headache at about 3am, Sinar Harian reported.

Her husband, Mohamed Amirul Akmal Mood Aziz, 25, said: “My wife woke me up to let me know of her headache. After that, she slept again until morning.”

She seemed to be all right the next day but stayed in bed, still asleep. Not long afterwards, their family was shocked to see that she had trouble breathing.

“I immediately called an ambulance as my wife needed oxygen and it arrived at noon. However, she was confirmed dead at 12.30pm at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital,” he said.

The sad tale of the couple spread on social media when netizens extended their prayers to Siti Saraf and encouraging words to Amirul.

Amirul said an autopsy confirmed that Siti Saraf died because of cerebral haemorrhage in her right brain. She was buried at Kampung Karang Muslim cemetery on Sunday.
