Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesman Masidi Manjun said the state health department had initially reported that the woman had not died because of Covid-19.
However a statement issued later said she was a Covid-19 casualty. “It was an unintentional typing error,” Masidi said.
Yesterday’s statement said the woman had died because of the virus on Oct 10 and was brought home to Kampung Senagang for burial the following day.
A total of 20 family members had gathered when her remains were sent home, he said, adding at least 50 people were later found infected in the community cluster.
