PETALING JAYA:
Tabung Haji (TH) chairman Md Nor Yusof has resigned with immediate effect, after having served three years at the pilgrim fund.

Appointed to the role in 2018, the accountant by training had previously held the role of executive chairman of the Securities Commission (SC) and chairman of Malaysia Airlines Bhd.

In a statement, TH extended its appreciation to Md Nor for his leadership during his tenure.

“Under his leadership, TH implemented efforts to restructure (and) strengthen corporate governance and its financial position as an Islamic institution responsible for managing the savings of Malaysian Muslims to complete their hajj pilgrimage.

“As at June 30, 2021, total deposits amounted to RM81.14 billion, its highest level since TH was established 58 years ago, reflecting a stronger level of trust and confidence from depositors.”
