Shorter quarantine for international arrivals and the vaccinated

Fully vaccinated individuals who are close contacts now only need to undergo a seven-day quarantine at home, says Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

There will be no more 14 days quarantine required of anyone arriving or returning to Malaysia, if they are fully vaccinated.
PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced shorter quarantine terms for fully vaccinated close contacts and international arrivals from Oct 18 onwards.

Ismail said close contacts who are fully vaccinated will only need to undergo a home quarantine for seven days.

“Close contacts who are partially vaccinated or not vaccinated will need to undergo a quarantine period of 10 days at home,” he said in a statement.

Ismail also said international arrivals who are fully vaccinated will need to quarantine for seven days upon arrival.

He added that this can be done either at home, if suitable, or at a quarantine station.

“However, international arrivals who are partially vaccinated or not vaccinated will need to quarantine for 10 days at a designated quarantine station.”

Previously, it was reported that all international arrivals would need to undergo quarantine for 14 days.
