PETALING JAYA:
ProtectHealth Corp Sdn Bhd is committed to the continuity of the national youth Covid-19 immunisation programme (Youth PICK) through the involvement of private medical practitioners and health NGOs.

In a statement today, it said it would be involved in vaccinating teenagers through outreach programmes, private health facilities and walk-ins at selected vaccination centres (PPVs).

The government officially launched Youth PICK on Sept 20. It will be managed under the Covid-19 immunisation task force – Adolescent (CITF-A), chaired by deputy health minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.

“The involvement of PMPs (private medical practitioners) and NGOs has proven to be effective in maximising and achieving vaccination targets,” ProtectHealth chief executive officer Anas Alam Faizli said.

He noted that ProtectHealth had contributed to 47% of the total vaccination doses for the adult part of the national immunisation programme through PMPs and NGOs.

“More than 3.2 million teenagers, aged 12 to 17, will be involved in PICK-Remaja (Youth PICK).

“Teenagers, especially Form 4 and 5 students, need to be vaccinated as soon as possible before schools open in October,” he said.

ProtectHealth is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ProtectHealth Malaysia, established under the health ministry.

It is a not-for-profit company that coordinates, administers and manages initiatives related to financing healthcare services, as mandated by the ministry.
