KOTA KINABALU:
All Sabah Parks stations and offices, including climbing activities to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, were opened to the public on Sept 16, says Sabah tourism, culture and environment minister Jafry Ariffin.

Areas around the Turtle Island Park in Sandakan and Bohey Dulang Island in Semporna as well as the Ulu Kimanis substation will commence operations tomorrow.

“However, the park’s reopening is subject to the stipulated rules as only visitors who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be allowed in.

“Domestic tourists from the same district, as well as civil servants, aged between 12 and 70 are also allowed to visit,” he said in a statement today.

He said the number of visitors was limited to only 100 people a day for each destination.

“All activities permitted at the park are subject to the standard operating procedure of Sabah Parks in line with Phase 2 of the national recovery plan which was updated on Sept 11,” he said.
