PETALING JAYA:
Five Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPVs) in the Klang Valley will be accepting Malaysians for walk-in vaccinations from tomorrow until Sept 30, the Covid-19 immunisation task force (CITF) said today.

Earlier this month, science, technology and innovation minister Dr Adham Baba said walk-in vaccinations in the Klang Valley would be discontinued.

The former health minister said the decision was taken after considering the small number of Klang Valley residents who had yet to be vaccinated and the low attendance at such centres.

In a statement today, CITF said the five PPVs are the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, IDCC Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Bangi Avenue Convention Centre in Bangi, Multimedia University in Cyberjaya, and Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute in Gombak.

CITF said that students from institutes of higher learning around the Klang Valley can also get their jabs at the five PPVs.

“This move to limit walk-in vaccinations (in the Klang Valley) to only five PPVs is in line with CITF’s strategy to optimise resources for the national Covid-19 immunisation programme,” it said in a statement.

CITF said walk-ins in other states would continue as normal and the public was advised to refer to their respective state health departments for the latest information on walk-in initiatives in their respective states.
