The title of Datuk awarded by Istana Pahang to Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force (MyWatch) chairman R Sri Sanjeevan was withdrawn last month, Pahang state secretary Sallehuddin Ishak said in a statement today.

“Upholding the order of His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang, it is hereby informed that the award of the Pahang Darul Makmur State Order of Merit to the nominee has been withdrawn and cancelled.

“The nominee is not allowed to wear any title and must return the Order of Merit previously conferred to the office of the Pahang state secretary, in accordance with Pahang state law,” he said.

According to the statement, the withdrawal of the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) took effect on Aug 24. There was no reason given for the withdrawal of the award.

Apart from being the chairman of MyWatch, Sanjeevan heads the Negeri Sembilan chapter of Pemuda Negara, an NGO allegedly linked to international trade and industry minister Azmin Ali.
