Man brings prostitute home, assaults wife for reprimanding him

Police arrest the 58-year-old who hit his wife on the face and pointed a parang at her after a heated argument on Saturday.

Police said the suspect, a scrap metal collector, had 21 prior arrests, including for armed robbery, stealing and drug-related offences.

A scrap metal collector was arrested by police yesterday for assaulting his wife after she reprimanded him for bringing home a prostitute.

The 58-year-old suspect, from Taman Sri Sentosa, Klang, had also waved a parang at her, Kosmo reported.

South Klang police chief Shamsul Amar Ramli said the couple, who had been married for 27 years, had gotten into an argument on Saturday after the suspect had brought home a prostitute.

“It was then he admitted that he had previously had sex with the prostitute. He then lost his temper and hit his wife on her face.

“He then pointed a parang at her. The victim fled the scene as she feared for her safety,” the Malay daily reported Shamsul as saying.

The victim, 60, lodged a police report on the very same day and the suspect was nabbed at 5pm yesterday, he added.

Shamsul said the suspect had 21 prior arrests, including for armed robbery, stealing and drug-related offences.

“The suspect has been remanded for two days to facilitate investigations for causing hurt and criminal intimidation.”
