
In the Klang Valley area, the locations include GSC Mid Valley; Aurum Theatre, The Gardens Mall; GSC 1 Utama; GSC MyTown; GSC NU Sentral; GSC IOI Puchong; GSC Setia City Mall; GSC Melawati Mall; GSC Alamanda Putrajaya; and GSC IOI City Mall Putrajaya.
In a Facebook post, GSC said the locations in Penang include GSC Gurney Plaza; GSC Queensbay Mall; and GSC Sunway Carnival.
The cineplexes to reopen in the southern region are GSC Palm Mall Seremban, Negeri Sembilan; GSC AEON Bandaraya Melaka; GSC Paradigm Mall, Johor; GSC and Aurum Theatre, The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru.
GSC said more locations would be reopening by Sept 23.
GSC said the reopening of cineplexes follows Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s announcement on Sept 8 to relax some SOPs for the creative industry, adding that it decided to wait until the revised SOPs were finalised by the government and some movies that had been under censorship review were cleared for screening.
The operations of all cinemas across the country had been temporarily suspended since November last year to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.
