PeKa B40, which is fully sponsored by the government, was offered to Malaysians who are in the lowest 40% household income range, known as the B40 group.
PeKa B40 focuses on health screening for those aged 50 and above, who receive the cost of living aid (Bantuan Sara Hidup or BSH), and their spouses.
It covers health screening, the purchase of medical devices up to RM20,000, a payment incentive of RM1,000 upon completion of cancer treatment, and transport allowance of up to RM500 in the peninsula and RM1,000 in Sabah and Sarawak.
Khairy also congratulated the staff of Klinik Sri Balung and Hospital Tawau for their efforts in helping those in the B40 by encouraging more health screening and further strengthening primary care locally.
He said Klinik Sri Balung was awarded the PeKa B40 Award for its achievement in conducting 6,568 health screenings through outreach activities, to B40 recipients throughout 2019 and 2020.
