DAP’s Ong Kian Ming and Teo Nie Ching said it is unfair for the 2021 batch of CLP candidates to be left in the dark with neither confirmation of the exact exam date nor updates on any progress made
This comes after the Legal Profession Qualifying Board (LPQB) announced that the CLP exam will be held “between February and April” next year.
“The LPQB should propose its own SOPs for organising the exam and for students to sit for it rather than having to wait for the National Security Council (MKN) to decide the SOPs,” Ong and Teo said in a joint statement today.
They said the Malaysian Bar Council and private institutions of higher learning need to play a more active role in advocating the cause of CLP students and the CLP programme.
”All of the stakeholders should come together to discuss the possibility of having hybrid/online exams for the CLP,” the statement added.
Ong was the deputy international trade and industry minister and Teo the deputy education minister under the previous Pakatan Harapan government.
