Selangor PH said menteri besar Amirudin Shari will table the issue at next week’s exco meeting with the aim of determining the way forward on the controversial issue.

This comes after a meeting of Selangor PH chiefs comprising PKR’s Amirudin, DAP’s Gobind Singh Deo and Amanah’s Izham Hashim.

The PH leaders also agreed to reject any efforts to revive the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) or any highway project similar to it.

There have been concerns over the proposed Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) which critics say is similar to Kidex.

The Kidex project had aimed to connect the Damansara-NKVE interchange of the New Klang Valley Expressway in the north to Bandar Kinrara in the south. It was cancelled on Feb 16, 2015.

Early this week, the Selangor government revealed that 536.7ha of the KLNFR would be degazetted.

State executive councillor Hee Loy Sian told FMT the decision was made under Section 12 of the National Forestry Act (Adoption) Enactment 1985.

On Wednesday, Amirudin said the state would be postponing the decision to degazette parts of the reserve.

However, Orang Asli activist Colin Nicholas alleged that the U-turn by the state government was a political move to appease people objecting to the degazettement, calling it a “blatant lie”, as the land had already been degazetted on Aug 12.
