National Patriots Association (Patriot) president Mohd Arshad Raji said Salleh must produce evidence to back his allegations and reveal his real motive in speaking out 10 years after his retirement.
Yesterday, Arshad, a retired brigadier-general, had said the Special Branch should investigate Salleh’s allegations in the interest of national security.
He said today the association wanted to know how credible were Salleh’s claims, adding that it was unusual for a former top military intelligence officer to disclose such sensitive information in public.
He accused Salleh of being unprofessional and inconsistent with the code of retired military officers.
Salleh had said in a newspaper interview that “physical assets and hard cash” were among the forms of support given by foreigners to Malaysian politicians.
