PETALING JAYA:
The 525,342 vaccine doses administered yesterday have pushed Malaysia’s cumulative total to 26,388,905.

In a Twitter post, it said slightly more than 70% of the adult population had now received at least one dose and 42% were fully vaccinated.

The Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee said the Klang Valley (103%), Labuan (98%) and Sarawak (87.8%) led the way in terms of adults given at least one jab.

It also clarified that the rate of first doses administered was over 100% in the Klang Valley as its figures on the adult population were based on the previous government census.

The vaccination of undocumented migrants and other foreigners had also bumped up the numbers.

The same three areas also topped the list for full vaccination, with Labuan (87.5%), Sarawak (77.4%) and the Klang Valley (60.3%) the first to reach the Phase 4 immunisation threshold under the national recovery plan.

As of yesterday, Kelantan (48.8%) and Sabah (43.9%) were the only states where less than half of the adult population had received at least one vaccine dose.
