You still need our permission to travel interstate, say cops

Bukit Aman tells long-distance married couples that they must obtain permission before embarking on journey to avoid problems at roadblocks.

With the increase in people moving across state borders, the police will be ramping up monitoring of SOPs compliance.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The police expect an increase in the number of interstate travel applications from long-distance married couples following the relaxation given by the government recently.

Internal Security and Public Order Department director Zainal Abidin Kasim said that, as a result, the police would ramp up monitoring of compliance with SOPs ( standard operating procedures) at roadblocks.

He advised long-distance married couples to get permission from the police before embarking on interstate travel to avoid problems when driving through roadblocks.

“All the latest SOPs announced by the government will be enforced,” he said.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced the relaxation of restrictions from yesterday, such as allowing interstate travel for long-distance couples and parents visiting their underage children, provided they are fully vaccinated.
