
PETALING JAYA: Former chief secretary to the government, Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid who had been warded at the intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering from Covid-19 complications last week, is now in stable condition.
He was admitted to Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM), Cheras on Aug 5 after he tested positive for Covid-19.
Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (Ikim), on their Facebook page, said: “Ahmad Sarji, the chairman of Ikim, is now in stable condition and gradually recovering.”
“Let us pray that he makes a full recovery soon,” it added.
Ahmad Sarji was the chief secretary to the government from 1990 to 1996, under then prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
