PETALING JAYA:
Two morning markets here will be closed after several cases of Covid-19 were detected.

The SS2 morning market will be closed from tomorrow until Monday due to two people testing positive for the virus.

In a Facebook post, Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) had yesterday ordered the vegetable stall where the cases were detected, and its neighbouring stalls, to close.

“Traders have been advised on testing, and my office will assist in the disinfection process. Let’s pray for the positive cases to recover swiftly,” she said.

Meanwhile, the morning market in Section 17 has also been closed since yesterday, with a report by China Press stating that five Covid-19 cases were detected in the market area.

While it made no mention of this, a notice from the Jalan 17/27 morning market hawkers association said the market would be closed to carry out disinfection work and would reopen on Saturday.
