No outpatients for Penang GH, it’s all Covid-19 wards now

Health department says patients at the outpatient clinics will be referred to other health clinics.

The Penang Hospital will not see any outpatients now, with all to be sent to other health clinics.
GEORGE TOWN:
The outpatient clinics at the Penang Hospital have been closed indefinitely and will be turned into wards to cope with the sharp rise of Covid-19 patients in the state.

In a statement, the state health department said patients with follow-ups at the clinics will be referred to other health clinics in the state.

“The outpatient clinic will be turned into an observation and early treatment ward for Covid-19 patients.

“This is due to a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases at the emergency and trauma department and increased admissions at the hospital,” it said.
