Public health, Covid-19 action main topics for Parliament today

KUALA LUMPUR:
Issues on public health and measures to address the Covid-19 pandemic will be the main focus of the second day sitting of Parliament today.

According to the order paper uploaded on the Parliament portal, health minister Dr Adham Baba will elaborate on the topics, after which the MPs may seek clarification and give their opinions before Adham replies to the issues raised.

Measures to address the increase in Covid-19 cases, increasing the capacity at public health facilities nationwide, and the welfare of frontliners are expected to be highlighted.

Parliament will sit for five days till July 29 and on Aug 2.

All the 220 MPs, including those who have yet to be vaccinated, are allowed to attend the special sitting, conducted in strict compliance with SOPs.

There are 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, but two have been left vacant after their representatives died.
