SEREMBAN:
An ambulance carrying Bukit Pelanduk health clinic staff believed to have suffered a gas leak that caused them to lose consciousness yesterday will be sent to the Public Works Department for investigation.

Negeri Sembilan health department director Dr Harlina Abdul Rashid said the Hazardous Material Unit Team (Hazmat) had conducted a check and did not rule out the possibility of a gas leak.

In a statement, she said a medical officer and two assistants were sending a colleague to the Port Dickson Hospital after the colleague had complained of chest pain and fainted at about 8.30am.

She said the patient was suspected of having suffered a heart attack and was in critical condition.

However, upon arrival at the hospital, all of them were found unconscious and immediate assistance and treatment were given.

“All the health workers are in stable condition and still receiving treatment at the Port Dickson Hospital,” she said.

“However, the patient died and the department is waiting for a full post-mortem report to identify the cause of death.”
