Ex-army man falls 10m from highway after hitting road barrier

Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Zulkefly Yahya said that the 54-year-old man died on the spot.

The man was flung 10m down from the Kerinchi Link highway onto the federal highway below.
KUALA LUMPUR:
A retired armed forces man died in an accident at Kerinchi Link here after his motorcycle crashed into a road barrier on the highway.

City traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Zulkefly Yahya said that the 54-year-old man was flung 10m down from the Kerinchi Link highway onto the federal highway below.

“Initial investigations showed that the man died on the spot. His remains have been taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for further action,” he said, adding that the incident took place in the afternoon.

Zulkefly said initial post-mortem results showed that the man sustained injuries on his head.

The police said the case will be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for dangerous driving.
