The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had remanded him for five days for investigations under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
Ipoh magistrates’ court senior assistant registrar Nurfarah Syahidah Mohd Noh granted the 57-year-old man a RM10,000 bail with two sureties.
Perak MACC director Mohd Fauzi Mohamad confirmed the case, according to a Sinar Harian report.
“Today, the suspect was released on bail after being remanded for five days,” he said.
The special officer was arrested on July 12 at the MACC office in Taiping when he arrived to give his statement at 3.30pm.
It was reported that the man had allegedly abused his position as a board member of an agricultural cooperative by appointing his own company to secure a fish-breeding project.
The project was developed on an 81ha land owned by the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation in Kerian, which was leased to the agricultural cooperative.
