Deputy minister’s aide dies of Covid-19

PETALING JAYA:
A special officer to deputy women, family and community development minister Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff passed away today due to Covid-19 at the age of 42.

In a Facebook post, Siti Zailah said the officer, Kumutha Raman, was admitted to Hospital Putrajaya on June 30 after testing positive for Covid-19 and had been treated in the intensive care unit.

“She breathed her last this afternoon,” the PAS MP for Rantau Panjang said, adding that Kumutha was a dedicated member of her staff.

Kumutha, 42, also headed the women’s wing of the PAS supporters club.

In a post on Facebook, PAS’ youth wing offered its condolences to Kumutha’s family and said that her passing would be a “huge loss” for the party.

Others who offered their condolences included PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and MIC women’s wing chief Usha Nandhini Jayaram.
