Ebit had said in a Facebook posting that his father Ibrahim Lew, died at the Gleneagles Hospital and called on his followers to pray for his father.
One Pushpa Bala said Ibrahim would definitely be blessed for raising a son like Ebit.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace. Take care and stay strong sir.”
Linda Capel from Penang wrote “rest assured, he is with our creator”, while Melton John Kinsuat, from Sabah, sent his heartfelt condolences adding “may his soul rest in peace”.
Another Karen Wong urged Ebit to stay strong.

Meanwhile, in a separate Facebook post, former prime minister Najib Razak sent his condolences, saying: “Condolences to Ustaz and family for this loss.”
Back in April, Ebit shared on social media saying his father had been sick and was admitted to Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian for treatment.
The younger Lew is known for his charitable work which includes aiding Pahang flood victims as well as sponsoring tablets for less fortunate students.
His recent work includes humanitarian missions to South Africa and Palestine.
The local philanthropist had also introduced several branches of Elews Mart to ease the burden of the needy by offering household essentials at affordable prices as a way of giving back to the community.
