
Dang Wangi police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the raid was carried out following public information and intelligence by the narcotics crime investigation division.
He said the 12, comprising nine Malaysian men and three women aged between 20 and 35, were detained in a hotel room.
They were taken to the Dang Wangi police headquarters, according to a report by Harian Metro.
Police also confiscated drugs and two bottles of ketum water.
The case is being investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) Regulations 2021.
