PETALING JAYA:
All parties should stop politicking and focus on helping the people who are struggling because of Covid-19, says deputy prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

According to a Bernama report, Ismail said everyone needs to unite and work together to fight the pandemic.

“Let us not play politics now because the people are struggling and they need the full attention of the government and political parties.”

Earlier this week, Ismail’s party, Umno, withdrew support for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, citing the government’s failure in handling the Covid-19 and economic situation.

Ismail, who was speaking to reporters after a visit to the Kerinchi People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Kuala Lumpur, said all parties need to support the government’s efforts to fight Covid-19.

The Kerinchi PPR is under an enhanced movement control order until July 16.
