SEREMBAN:
The Negeri Sembilan branch of the domestic trade and consumer affairs ministry has given an assurance that there will be enough food supply throughout the implementation of the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in the district from tomorrow.

Its director, Ain Arjuna Aziz Zaman, said monitoring conducted by state enforcement officers found that the supply of daily necessities in the district was also sufficient.

She said a total of 3,010 retail outlets involving hypermarkets, supermarkets, mini markets, sundry shops and public markets have been inspected since the implementation of the nationwide lockdown on June 1.

“Daily monitoring of 151 dedicated district retailers and 33 dedicated district wholesalers were also conducted,” she said in a statement here today.

Ain Arjuna also advised consumers not to resort to panic buying and hoarding to avoid disruption in the supply of items in the district.

“Consumers are also urged to purchase online to reduce physical movements at business premises and channel information and complaints via the ministry’s e-aduan portal or through WhatsApp at 019-279-4317,” she said.

The entire district of Seremban will be placed under the EMCO from tomorrow until July 22.
