KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 741 Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) candidates in last year’s exam scored a Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) of 4.00, or four flat, the Malaysian Examinations Council announced today.
This was a slight decrease compared to 802 candidates in 2019.
Council member Wahid Razzaly said 554 (74.76%) of the 741 candidates who scored CGPA of 4.00 were from the B40 group.
He said the national CGPA for the 2020 STPM exam rose to 2.78 from 2.77 in 2019.
Of the 741 candidates who obtained a CGPA of 4.00, 23 scored 5As in all five subjects taken and 718 candidates scored 4As in the subjects taken.
However, the achievement of last year’s candidates only showed a minor improvement (0.01%) over that of 2019, he said when announcing the results virtually today.
