PETALING JAYA: The police have launched an internal investigation over lewd comments a policeman allegedly made towards women police trainees in a viral video clip.
The officer was working as a trainer at one of the police training centres.
The police administration director Zaini Jass, in a statement, said the officer would be given administrative and office work pending the result of the probe.
“The police force views this matter seriously as it affects the integrity and professionalism at police training institutes.”
He also said police would not compromise on sexist statements, acts or behaviour among their officers.
“Strict and immediate action will be taken under the existing laws and codes of conduct for public officers.”
