
He said a total of 7,039,072 doses were given out nationwide, including 215,968 yesterday.
“A total of 5,072,714 people have received the first dose.
“From that figure, 1,966,358 people have also received their second jabs,” he said on his Twitter account today.
Meanwhile, the minister overseeing the national vaccination programme, Khairy Jamaluddin said yesterday Malaysia is close to achieving its target of inoculating 10% of its population against Covid-19.
This comes after more than 250,000 doses were administered daily over three consecutive days.
“We are nearing the 10% vaccination target required to move into phase two,” he said referring to the second of the four phases in the government’s Covid-19 exit strategy or National Recovery Plan 2021.
