24 new Covid-19 clusters, only 9 not from workplaces

The clusters were detected in Selangor, Penang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Pahang, Sarawak, Terengganu and Negeri Sembilan.

Fifteen were workplace clusters, seven were community clusters and the remaining two were each linked to a high-risk group and detention centre, respectively.

The health ministry has detected 24 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said today.

In a statement, he said 15 of them were workplace clusters, seven were community clusters and the remaining two were each linked to a high-risk group and detention centre, respectively.

The clusters were detected in Selangor, Penang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Pahang, Sarawak, Terengganu and Negeri Sembilan.

Selangor

  • Industri Jalan Bacang: a working cluster linked to factory workers at Jalan Bacang, Batu 9 in Batu Caves. It involves Gombak. 74 screened, 38 positive.
  • Industri Jalan Kidamai Dua: a workplace cluster linked to a factory. It involves Hulu Langat. 34 screened, 18 positive.
  • Jalan Bandar Satu: a workplace cluster linked to a service company. It involves Gombak. 28 screened, 25 positive.
  • Jalan Enam Selatan Dua: a workplace cluster linked to a service company. It involves Sepang, Kuala Langat, Petaling, Klang, Hulu Selangor and Hulu Langat. 330 screened, 92 positive.
  • Jalan Perdagangan Alam Jaya: a workplace cluster linked to a business premises. It involves Kuala Selangor. 72 screened, 19 positive.
  • Jalan Sepang: a cluster linked to a high-risk group in a dialysis centre. It involves Sepang. 89 screened, 18 positive.
  • Warisan Puteri construction site: a workplace cluster linked to construction workers. It involves Sepang. 105 screened, 65 positive.
  • Industri Perusahaan Utama: a workplace cluster linked to a service company. It involves Hulu Langat. 43 screened, 30 positive.

Sarawak

  • Sungai Kotak: a community cluster. It involves Maradong. The index case was detected on June 18. 101 screened, 34 positive.
  • Nanga Tada: a community cluster. It involves Kanowit. 179 screened, 107 positive.
  • Jalan Kuala Tatau: a community cluster. It involves Tatau and Bintulu. The index case was detected on June 19. 29 screened, 22 positive.
  • Tanjong Lelengau: a community cluster. It involves Pakan. The index case was detected on June 17. 90 screened, 52 positive.

Kuala Lumpur

  • Jalan Kukuban: a workplace cluster. It involves Titiwangsa. The index case was detected on June 21. 44 screened, 34 positive.
  • Jalan Raja Bot: a workplace cluster linked to a service company. It involves Titiwangsa. The index case was detected on June 16. 30 screened, 19 positive.
  • Kampung Segambut Dalam: a community cluster. It involves Kepong. 573 screened, 70 positive.

Melaka

  • Jalan Mangga Satu: a working cluster linked to two restaurant workers at Melaka Tengah. It involves Melaka Tengah and Jasin. 51 screened, 25 positive.
  • Industri Jalan Usaha Dua: a working cluster linked to factory workers at Jalan Usaha 2, Kawasan Perindustrian Ayer Keroh. It involves Melaka and Alor Gajah. The index case was detected on June 16. 588 screened, 31 positive.
  • Lorong Tun Mamat Dua: a community cluster. It involves Melaka Tengah. The index case was detected on June 6. 37 screened, 28 positive.

Penang

  • Tingkat Perusahaan 6A: a workplace cluster linked to factory workers at Tingkat Perusahaan 6A, Kawasan Perusahaan Prai. It involves Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Utara and Seberang Perai Selatan. 137 screened, 14 positive.
  • Industri Jalan Macalister: a working cluster linked to factory workers at Jalan Macalister, Georgetown. It involves Timur Laut and Seberang Perai Utara. The index case was detected on June 20. 83 screened, 21 positive.

Terengganu

  • Jerung Surau: a community cluster. It involves Marang and Hulu Terengganu. The index case was detected on June 14. 139 screened, 33 positive.

Johor

  • Jalan Kempas Permatang: a working cluster linked to factory workers at Kawasan Perindustrian Tebrau 4. It involves Johor Bahru. 32 screened, eight positive.

Negeri Sembilan

  • Tembok Jelebu: a cluster linked to a detention centre. It involves Jelebu. The index case was detected on June 15. 557 screened, 44 positive.

Pahang

  • Pasar Kemunting: a workplace cluster linked to a market. It involves Kuantan. The index case was detected on June 21. 118 screened, 17 positive.
