Enough of delay tactics, Umno man tells PM

Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi also slams 'don't wrest power' statement by Hishammuddin Hussein.

Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi says Muhyiddin Yassin must heed the King’s decree to reconvene Parliament.
PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin must heed the decree by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay rulers to reconvene Parliament as soon as possible, an Umno Supreme Council member said.

Puad Zarkashi said following the announcement by Istana Negara, there should be no more “delay tactics” to prolong the suspension of Parliament.

In a Facebook post, Puad also also criticised foreign minister Hishammuddin Hussein’s statement that although he agreed that Parliament should reconvene, it should not be used as a tool to wrest political power.

“What about those who suspended Parliament for no good reason and have now failed?” he asked.

He added that the Umno general assembly’s decision to withdraw support for the Perikatan Nasional government “was a right thing to do”.

Yesterday, the Malay rulers said there was no need for the nation to remain under a state of emergency after Aug 1, the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, announced.

Additionally, the rulers agreed with the King, who decreed for Parliament to reconvene as soon as possible. At the state level, they were also of the view that the state assemblies can reconvene as soon as possible.
