Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 6,831 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 593,695.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 667,876.
There were 70,112 active cases, with 922 being treated in intensive care and 450 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the 101 deaths take the number of fatalities to 4,069.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 1,996.
This was followed by Sarawak (718), Kuala Lumpur (650), Negeri Sembilan (396), Johor (366), Kedah (252), Kelantan (245), Sabah (230), Melaka (155), Labuan (138), Penang (124), Perak (68), Terengganu (43), Pahang (32), Putrajaya (5) and Perlis (1).
There were 5,413 local infections today, comprising 4,510 Malaysians and 903 foreigners, as well as six imported cases.
The 101 deceased comprised 98 Malaysians and three foreigners, aged between 29 and 88. All but 16 had existing medical conditions.
