PETALING JAYA:
As the saying goes, one good deed deserves another.

A food delivery rider, identified only as “Syamil” turned down an offer of a free motorcycle. The reason? He already had one.

And now his honesty is winning the hearts of social media users, while the company which offered him the bike, Motor Lian Soon, also won plaudits for their generosity.

Last night, Motor Lian Soon had posted a picture of Syamil cycling under the afternoon heat and pleaded with the public to track him down so they could give him a motorcycle.

Barely 24 hours later, they managed to get a hold of Syamil but were told he already had a motorcycle.

“He was honest and turned down the offer. All the best in your endeavours,” they wrote on Facebook.

According to several commenters, he was using a bicycle because the quota for motorcycle riders for the service was full.

One social media user identified as Sook Lian Tan commended Syamil for his honesty. “Wish him a good future,” Sook wrote.

Another, identified as Aiza Ikhmal said it was rare to come across such honest people. “Congratulations to the parents who raised him.”

One Miko Lee said both Syamil and the company deserve “good karma”.

Other netizens praised Motor Lian Soon for wanting to help Syamil, with many hoping that the company will be blessed with good business.

Some also applauded Motor Lian Soon for being colour-blind when helping those in need.
