There were also 7,703 Covid-19 cases detected.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 5,777 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 501,898.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 587,165.
There are 82,274 active cases with 878 patients being treated in intensive care and 441 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the 126 deaths take the number of fatalities to 2,993.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases yet again with 2,728.
This was followed by Kuala Lumpur (701), Sarawak (588), Negeri Sembilan (586), Johor (554), Kelantan (541), Penang (407), Kedah (283), Sabah (254), Pahang (237), Perak (224), Terengganu (224), Melaka (209), Labuan (159), Perlis (7) and Putrajaya (1).
There were 7,701 local infections today, comprising 6,860 Malaysians and 841 foreigners, as well as two imported cases.
The 126 deceased comprised 123 Malaysians and three foreigners, aged between 27 and 98. All but 21 had existing medical conditions.
