Acryl Sani said the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) had been investigating the matter and the force would provide full cooperation.

“Police are not involved in the probe. We let them, a third party, to carry out the investigation,” he said in a press conference today.

Hamid had exposed the existence of a movement among young officers who he claimed had sought to topple him. He said this group intended to dominate the police force for their personal benefit.

Acryl Sani also spoke about stricter measures to enforce the national lockdown from tomorrow to June 14.

He said the number of roadblocks would be increased across the country, especially in suburban areas. “We will also establish mobile roadblocks. “At the moment, we have about 600 roadblocks and we will increase the number to 800.”

He said the effort was made to ensure that the public would not violate the 10km radius travel rule.
